A new symbol

Nicola Ellwood

We are committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment where every child and family feels valued and respected. To promote diversity and equality, we have adopted a symbol featuring hands of different skin tones coming together to form a heart. This symbol represents unity, love, and respect for all.

How We Use This Symbol:

  • Encouraging Conversations: We use this symbol to start discussions with children about kindness, differences, and togetherness.

  • Displaying in the Nursery: We display this symbol in classrooms as a reminder of friendship, inclusion, and respect for one another.

  • Incorporating into Activities: We incorporate this symbol into crafts and learning activities where children draw their own hands and talk about what makes them unique.

  • Engaging Families: Parents can use this symbol at home to start conversations about diversity, equality, and kindness with their children.

Please take a copy of our symbol and display with your golden rules on the fridge to remind children of love and respect for one another in the family home.
