The Extras
Our excellent care model is supplemented with some added benefits that come as standard across all of our nurseries

At Leapfrog, we’re proud to offer a free Stay and Play session that’s open to all parents and caregivers, providing a wonderful opportunity to connect with other families and experience the high-quality, nurturing environment we offer.

Our Stay and Play sessions are designed for children from 8 months old and provide an inviting space for parents to relax and enjoy some quality time with their little ones. The sessions feature a range of age-appropriate resources and activities that encourage exploration, creativity, and development.

Our team of qualified practitioners will be on hand to offer professional advice, share insights into child development, and answer any questions you may have. Whether you’re looking for parenting tips, advice on the next steps in your child’s learning, or just want to meet other local families, our Stay and Play is a great way to engage with the community.

This session also offers a chance to learn more about Leapfrog, with opportunities for tours of our nursery and a chance to network with other parents. It’s a friendly, inclusive environment where you can build connections and gain support in your parenting journey.

Join us for a warm, welcoming session where everyone is part of the Leapfrog family!
Stay & Play

'Famly' App
The children’s progress and development are tracked using an app called Famly. This allows your child’s key person to work in partnership with you to ensure your child is getting the most out of their nursery experience and enables us to communicate with you about their day, monitor progress and keep up to date with what’s going on at home.
We will often post home learning challenges and encourage all children to put up a family photo which we can display in the nursery environment.
We also ask parents to join in as many of the opportunities we provide for them to come in and play and learn alongside their children. These events include story cafes, FUDGE days and keyworker coffee mornings. All of these experiences boost the children’s confidence and enable to share what they are learning with family members.

Makaton
The Leapfrog team are trained in Makaton to help further develop children’s language skills. Makaton is a visual way of communicating and used alongside words and sounds can support all children with their language development.
We use a sign of the week to share this with the children and families and they are often linked to something we are learning about.
We also use Makaton in our daily routine, songs, rhymes and golden rules. We have found these visual clues help to reinforce ideas, remember words, remind children of behaviour boundaries and encourage them to make choices
Cooking activities are very popular with children and incorporate so much learning and so many skills. Children learn how to use kitchen tools safely to chop, grate and mash different foods.
They find out about healthy foods and build confidence in trying new things they have prepared themselves.
Cooking is an excellent starting point for exploring other cultures. Using a fabulous recipe book, we plan and teach children to make dishes from around the world and embrace being chefs for the afternoon.

Nutrition

Staff are highly training on how to support children’s physical development using a range of specific exercise and activities that are fun and engaging.
This small focus group work ensures children do not lack the opportunity to develop fundamental sensory motor skills. It is so important that children’s gross motor skills develop well so they are ready for school and their future success.
